city of Salamanca

spent a few days to hop on day trips from Salamanca. nice relaxing place and of cause the highlight was the cathedral. do note that you should purchase tickets in advance as the lines were incredibly long. we opted for the guided tour of the church and it was worthwhile. guide was thorough and lots of information was provided. other than that, Salamanca has lots of bars with cheap and good wine, cocktails and food. city centre had some crowd but not overly crowded. just the right fanfare for a party feel. shops seemed to close somewhat early on sundays as was typical but there were enough eateries opened
