Cherry blossoms! Okura Park, the gate designated as a tangible cultural property awaits!

#Sakura2024 I went to see the cherry blossoms at Okura Park. We toured Okura Park together to enjoy the cherry blossoms. Okura Park was developed as a park on the site of the villa of the founder of Noritake Company. There are many parks in Tokyo that have been developed as feudal gardens from the Edo period, but villas from the Taisho period may be rare. Okura Park has two nationally registered tangible cultural properties: the thatched gate (the front gate of the former Okura Kazuchika villa) and the rest building (the annex of the former Okura Kazuchika villa). The thatched gate was re-thatched when it was relocated. There was a plum tree in the garden as well as bonsai inside the rest building. The park is about a 10-minute walk from JR Obu Station.
