Zhejiang Longyou Yangjia Village Guanxi Family

Guanxi Shijia is an ancient ancestral hall built by the Yang clan in the first year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573). The building faces south and has a layout of two entrances and three bays. It has a total width of 12 meters, a total depth of 24 meters, and covers an area of ​​282 square meters. There is a gatehouse on the main facade of Qianjin, with a double-eaved hip roof and a plaque with the words "Kansai Family" hanging on it. The front main room adopts a two-seam raised beam style with double steps in front and a curved roof in the back using four pillars, a total of nine purlins, and a stage. The second room has a mountain seam and a beam-through style with five pillars for the front and back steps. The back hall is the main hall, with two seams and nine beams in the main room, and double steps in front and back. A wooden plaque with the words "Sanyi Hall" hangs in the middle of the lintel of the main hall in the main room, and a stone tablet with the inscription of the construction of the hall is embedded on the gable of the left wing. The entire group of buildings is well preserved. The camphor tree recorded in the inscription on the construction of the hall is still alive, and the environment of the courtyard and pond has also been well preserved. The wooden components of the building are finely carved with figures, landscapes, flowers and plants, alternating between openwork and relief, and the shapes are vivid. The ancestral hall also houses a set of 58 imperial carriages carved in the third year of the Republic of China. The Guanxi Family Temple not only has an accurate architectural date and obvious characteristics of the times, but also has strong local characteristics. It is well preserved and continues to be used to this day. It is an important example of ancestral hall architecture in Longyou in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
