Opened in August 2020, the Sheraton & Delta Hotels in Kunming is one of the few Marriott hotels in the city. The design inspiration of the Sheraton Kunming Hotel comes from the ancient trade route in the southwest of China - the Tea Horse Road. As a special region where multiple ethnic groups converge, it preserves a rich and colorful minority culture along the way. The first thing that catches the eye in the lobby space is a series of exquisite paintings depicting iconic Yunnan attractions, such as the Stone Forest, the Red River Terraces, and the Lijiang Ancient Town. Displayed in the lobby are two exquisitely robust wooden horse artworks, evoking guests' reverie of the ancient international trade route's horse caravans. At the same time, the lobby design also features artworks that showcase the traditional Chinese movable type printing technique as wall decorations, which are grand and pay tribute to Kunming's charming mountains and rivers and Yunnan's historical heritage. The lobby space is also open and atmospheric, yet very exquisite. Other spaces also show Sheraton's sincerity in transformation, with designs that are not outdated, and both a sense of luxury and texture! 3. The Sheraton Hotel has a total of 427 exquisite and spacious rooms & suites, featuring minority totems made with embroidery techniques and landscapes along the Tea Horse Road.
