Kunming | Delta Hotel

| Delta Hotel. This time, I specially went to Kunming to check in at one of the only three Delta Hotels in the country. The hotel is located in the Economic Development Zone of Guandu District, adjacent to the Fukan City Shopping Center, and is a twin tower with the Sheraton next door, making it very suitable for a staycation. Originally, I booked two nights with 20,000 points, but a week before check-in, I found that the friends and family rate had dropped below 400 yuan, so I decisively canceled the original order. Since the hotel's suites are not usually available, the hotel pre-booked a 45-square-meter premium king room. The room is located on the 27th floor, a corner room with two panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a broad view, although there is really no scenery around. The large amount of light-colored design and wooden furniture in the room reduced some of the business atmosphere. Surprisingly, the room is also equipped with a Xiaodu smart speaker, although I mostly used it to listen to music, haha. The bathroom is relatively cramped, but the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows are still worth a good review. Delta shares a pool with the Sheraton next door. The pool design is commendable, but the water is very shallow, making it suitable only for taking photos. What impressed me most was Delta's elite tea room. Unlike traditional domestic lounges with timed afternoon tea and happy hour, the elite tea room offers sandwiches, salads, and ice cream all day, and two hot dishes in the evening, more like a Western lounge with all cold dishes. Breakfast is also at the Sheraton. Apart from the relatively rich noodle toppings, everything else is standard and left no impression.
