Ten years ago, my family flew to the US on Korean Air and accumulated 22,500 miles. We received an email that the miles were about to expire, so we redeemed them for the less popular ICN-KMG route. 💰The tax was only 60,000 won, equivalent to about 288 RMB. 🧳Our flight was at 6:40 PM, arriving at Incheon Airport Terminal 2 at 2:16 PM. Korean Air's KE counters at Incheon Airport are huge; A, B, C, and D are all their counters. If you have a business class ticket, I recommend checking in at the dedicated A area. Just a short walk before exiting is departure; there's no queue, and you go straight through security into the restricted area. You don't need to find the fast-track security for business and first class. I don't know if Incheon Airport offers that. 🚶The Prestige Lounge was so delicious, I didn't want to leave! At 6:13 PM, we went down to gate 208, Zone 1, and queued to board. The jet bridge was incredibly long. Small planes don't differentiate between business and economy; everyone enters through the same gate. 📢The boarding announcement came early, and I was still eating and drinking in the lounge. When I arrived, I was third to last to be seated. Unable to take a picture of the overall business class environment. The flight attendant asked me in Korean what I would like to drink, since I was the only foreigner. After switching to English, I said I didn't want juice, and then they brought me a glass of sparkling wine. 💺Korean Airlines uses four types of Airbus A321 aircraft: A321neo (182 seats), A321neo (180 seats), A321neo (188 seats), and A321-200 (174 seats). The flight on that day was an A321neo with 182 seats, not an A321-200. This is a narrow-body aircraft, registration number HL8713, 0.8 years old. It's a new generation of aircraft using the latest technology. The business class seating layout is 2-2, with eight seats. The occupancy rate that day was 100%. The Elite Seat 2.0 features a stylish and minimalist design and is the first time a Korean Airlines narrow-body aircraft has been equipped with a 180-degree fully lie-flat seat. The seat width is 53cm, recline is 160cm, and the bed length is 198cm. It also has a USB charging port and wireless magnetic fast charging. What surprised me most was the touchscreen control panel, which is very user-friendly for those with nearsightedness. The seats were new and clean, which was really comfortable. 🛜The only downside is that even business class requires an additional fee. 🩴Before I sat down, slippers, blankets, and pillows were already laid out. The slippers were of good quality, and the blankets were from the Italian brand Frette! If I didn't have so much carry-on luggage, I would have taken them with me. Frette has had a close relationship with European royalty since its inception, having been a supplier to the Italian royal family and producing altarcloths for the Vatican. Today, it's a standard feature in over 1500 luxury hotels worldwide. Like the Chestnut, Aman, and Peninsula hotels, they are truly the hard currency of the hotel industry. Their understated luxury, not relying on eye-catching logos, focuses on providing the ultimate private sleep experience, making them a representative of the old-money style that pursues understated luxury. KE Airlines' aesthetic sense is top-notch! 🥂 The flight attendant confirmed the meal before takeoff. I chose champagne and guava juice for drinks. After takeoff, the meal was quickly prepared. Kudos to EVA Air and Korean Air for their high efficiency! Hurry up and finish so I can sleep. I definitely can't skip this; I get hungry very quickly. The flight attendant saw me and smiled. She so proactively pulled out a folding tray table and prioritized laying out a tablecloth for me.

It's still hard to believe that a multi-million-person metropolis, complete with a massive lake right in the city center, sits at an altitude of nearly 2,000 meters! You can see it all from above by heading up to Kunming's Western Hills. A cable car stretches directly over the lake, connecting the city to the summit (we heard that even though there's a road, taxis aren't allowed up the mountain). 👉🏻 You can book cable car tickets on Trip.com (There’s usually a bit of a queue for both the ride up and down, so it’s best to buy your tickets in advance.) The highlight isn't just the ride up, but walking along the hiking trail carved right into the vertical cliffside. The views are genuinely breathtaking! This spot is called 📍The Longmen Scenic Area — tickets are sold right at the top near the entrance. First time flying with China Eastern Airlines, and it definitely won't be my last! ✈️✨ It’s so convenient that they operate daily direct flights straight from Singapore to Yunnan—in just around 4 hours, you’re in Kunming. It’s huge compared to other MUJI in China. 3 floors with everything: furniture, home goods, stationery, clothing, food section, and even the MUJI Hotel concept corners. What I loved: 1. Product range - Way more variety than regular stores. Lots of seasonal items and Japan imports. 2. Store layout - Very clean, spacious, and easy to browse. The wooden theme is so calming. 3. Good to shop + rest - There’s a seating area and you can actually take your time. Prices are standard MUJI, not cheap but quality is there. Weekends can get crowded. Overall: If you like MUJI, this is a must-visit in Kunming. I ended up buying way more than planned 😂

This time, I made a special trip to the "Spring City" and honestly, I didn't want to leave Save this super chill 2-day, 1-night itinerary before you go! 🗺️ 🕘 Morning Huangong East Street: The streets are filled with retro yellow and green vibes—every shot looks like a cinematic masterpiece. There are plenty of stylish cafes along the way, and you might even run into some adorable furry friends! 🐕 Green Lake Park: The lotus flowers were in full bloom when I visited. Sit by the lake, feel the breeze, and just slow down the pace Xilou: A must-visit restaurant in Kunming. It’s super popular! 🔥 If you're solo, a bowl of Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles is more than enough to fill you up. The ingredients are generous, and the broth is incredibly savory. The mini Steam-pot Chicken is also a total flavor bomb! 👍 If you're in a group, try their stir-fries and wild mushrooms 🕒 Afternoon Yunnan Military Academy: Located on the west side of Green Lake. The yellow walls and red windows give off a strong historical vibe. Stroll through the corridors to soak in the history. 🆓 Free entry with an appointment Kunming Old Street: Tucked away in these old alleys are some fantastic shops. You've got to try the famous flower cakes from Jiahua, Guanshengyuan, and Panxiangji. The lively, bustling atmosphere here is just wonderful 🕘 Evening Dounan Flower Market: A place that turned a flower market into a 4A tourist attraction! I recommend entering around 9:00 PM. You can get jasmine and daisies for 5 RMB, and roses or lilies for 10 RMB. Seriously, you'll shop 'til you drop! Accommodation Spotlight: This time, I stayed at the newly opened Manjia Seaview Resort Hotel right by Dianchi Lake. The decor is very chic, with various room types to choose from, and you get a stunning view of Dianchi. 🤩 Downstairs is Maan Coffee—the outdoor seating area is incredibly photogenic. The food doesn't disappoint either; both the presentation and the taste are top-notch! 👍 Quick Tip: Summer isn't the season for seagulls; they won't be back until after October. You can head to places like Haigeng Dam then. Make sure to set aside an extra day for that! 📷

We hadn't come across it anywhere before 🤷♀️, but Kunming is packed with cafes and shops where you can sample these local beans. And in true Chinese fashion, there's a creative twist: at a local cafe, we tried a clean filter coffee with a strikingly clear rose flavor and aroma! 🌹 We immediately asked an AI how they pull this off 👇🏻 As it turns out, in Yunnan, freshly harvested coffee cherries undergo anaerobic fermentation in airtight tanks alongside fresh rose petals. During this process, the beans absorb the flower's natural essential oils at a molecular level.
