Located in Kowloon Park on Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre is an excellent destination for exploring Hong Kong's rich history and culture. Architectural Features Originally known as Blocks S61 and S62 of the Whitfield Barracks, the building is a two-story Victorian colonial-style military structure. Its slanted roof and wooden louvered windows showcase colonial design, while spacious verandas and semi-suspended basements provide ventilation and moisture resistance. Modern facilities have been integrated during its renovation. Exhibition Highlights • Permanent Exhibitions: The main exhibition halls focus on Hong Kong's archaeological and architectural heritage, showcasing representative artifacts alongside models and multimedia displays that narrate the story of Hong Kong's unique cultural legacy. • Special Exhibitions: Periodic short-term exhibitions delve deeper into Hong Kong's archaeological and architectural heritage. • Special Activities: Currently hosting the "Virtual and Reality: Exploring Heritage through Technology" exhibition, which uses innovative technology to present nearly 30 distinctive historical buildings in Hong Kong across four zones. Visitors can take AR-enhanced photos and participate in escape room games to learn about heritage conservation.
