The "Literati's Playthings" exhibition at the Museum of Tea Ware introduces visitors to Chinese literati's utensils and tea life

The Flagship Store of Tea Ware's "Literati's Playthings" exhibition leads visitors to learn about Chinese literati's playthings and tea life The Flagship Store of Tea Ware launched a new exhibition "Literati's Playthings - Chinese Literati's Playthings and Tea Life" on August 2, exhibiting nearly 100 sets of Chinese Ming and Qing dynasty stationery and teaware objects selected from the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Flagship Store of Tea Ware, showcasing the aesthetic culture of Chinese literati's erudition and love of antiquity. Since the Ming Dynasty, the life taste of Chinese literati has been constantly improving, and they have developed a strong interest in various utensils and objects of appreciation in study life in order to highlight their life taste and status. These stationery and playthings are made of different materials. Craftsmen use their ingenious craftsmanship to fully utilize the characteristics of various materials, and each has its own characteristics and cultural connotations. This exhibition showcases elegant stationery and tea sets made from materials such as bamboo, jade, stone and purple clay, allowing visitors to understand the unique significance of these materials and the objects made from them in Chinese culture and the lives of literati. Selected exhibits include a three-legged incense burner made of bamboo from the Qing Dynasty, a jade armrest with bamboo patterns used for writing in the Qing Dynasty, a lotus leaf washbasin (a tool used to hold water for washing brushes) created by Chen Mingyuan, a famous purple clay artist in the Qing Dynasty, a famille rose plum branch engraved pot created by Qu Yingshao, a Qing Dynasty calligrapher, painter and seal engraver, and a rhinoceros horn cup with embossed mantis and butterfly patterns. In addition to playing chess, calligraphy, painting, reading and meditation, drinking tea is also a daily life for literati. Literati enjoyed tea and exchanged ideas in elegant gatherings, and they were very particular about tea sets, environment and form. The exhibition introduces the basic configuration of a Chinese tea table through the interactive installation "Tea Tasting Space - My Tea Table Proposal". Visitors can also design their own tea table to experience the charm of Chinese tea culture and enjoy the leisurely tea life. The exhibition will be held until September 30 next year. The Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware is located at 10 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong (inside Hong Kong Park). #Flagship of Tea Ware Museum #Literati and Art #Good Place to Relax #Relax #Good Places for Families #Holiday Family Tour #Local Tour #Good Places in Hong Kong #Good Places on Weekdays #Good Places on Weekends #Good Places #Local Family Tour #Parent-Child Tour #Parent-Child #Parent-Child Activity #Check-in Attraction #Check-in #hklifestyle #hkdaily #hkiger #hkig #hongkong #hk #instadaily #travelhk #discoverhk #explorehongkong #exploringhongkong #discoverhongkong #awesomehongkong
