Hong Kong Space Museum launches new free special exhibition "Black Hole - The End of Information"

The Hong Kong Space Museum will launch a new free special exhibition "Black Hole - The End of Information" (October 25), leading visitors to explore the mysteries of black holes. 　　 Scientists proposed the concept of black holes more than 200 years ago. They believed that the gravitational field of a black hole was so strong that even light could not escape, but they had never been able to reach a consensus. After decades of research, scientists have finally found solid evidence to prove the existence of black holes. To their surprise, black holes not only play a key role in the evolution of the universe, but also help humans unlock the deepest mysteries of the universe. 　　 The exhibition is divided into seven different areas, introducing the history of black hole research, its confusing structure and characteristics, and its strange birth and death process. Visitors can also learn about the latest scientific research by local scholars. 　　 Through interesting interactive exhibits, the exhibition allows visitors to experience the simulated process of falling into a black hole, listen to the magical sounds converted from the black hole's gravitational waves, understand the technology of taking photos of black holes through 3D puzzles, and learn about the scientific principles of detecting gravitational waves. Finally, the exhibition will explore the puzzling black hole information paradox and explore the possibility of humanity using black holes as new resources. 　　 The exhibition will be held from October 25 to May 27, 2024 at the lobby of the Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Admission is free.
