#summerdestinations This summer, I had the pleasure of visiting the historical city of Gdańsk, Poland, and it was an unforgettable experience! 🏰🇵🇱 Nestled along the Baltic coast, Gdańsk is a city rich in history and charm, with no entrance fee required to roam its captivating streets. The heart of the city is the Long Market, a vibrant area lined with beautifully restored townhouses, each with its unique story and intricate details. The Golden Gate and Green Gate are perfect spots for photos, and the Main Town Hall, with its towering spire, offers a panoramic view of the city if you're up for the climb. A visit to St. Mary's Church is a must. As one of the largest brick churches in the world, its vast interior and stunning architecture left me in awe. Just a short walk away is the Gdańsk Crane, a symbol of the city’s maritime history. I also explored the European Solidarity Centre, which provides a powerful insight into Poland’s modern history. For a more relaxed experience, the riverside promenade is perfect for a leisurely stroll, lined with charming cafes and offering picturesque views of historic ships. Nearby, you can visit the scenic beaches of Sopot or take a boat trip to the Westerplatte, where WWII began.
