Pilgrimage Along Spain's Atlantic Coast - The Basque Region The Pedro Arrupe Footbridge is a pedestrian bridge located at the estuary of the Bilbao River in Biscay Province, Spain. Spanning the Bilbao River, this visually striking and impressive structure (resembling a giant dragonfly) is completed with treated lapacho wood cladding. This modern footbridge connects the southern bank's Paseo de Abandoibarra and Avenida de las Universidades to the northern bank near the University of Deusto. It is named in honor of Father Pedro Arrupe of Bilbao.
