Traditional Chinese Village - Yongkang Houwu Village

Houwu Village belongs to Qiancang Town, Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province, and has been named as the third batch of China's Historic and Cultural Villages, with only four villages in Zhejiang receiving this honor. Houwu Village has a long history, with outstanding people and a spirit of place. Since its establishment in the fifteenth year of the Jiading era of the Song Dynasty (1222), it has a history of more than 770 years. During this period, it has produced many talents, enjoyed economic prosperity, and accumulated a rich cultural heritage. Despite the vicissitudes of time, the village still retains the largest and most complete ancient architectural complex in Yongkang. Among them, the Wu family ancestral hall covers an area of more than 1140 square meters, was founded in the 26th year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1547), and has a history of more than 450 years. Its structure is rational, craftsmanship exquisite, and the column heads, archways, and beams are all painted with gold and colorful beads, and are well preserved. In addition, Houwu Village also has many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the old construction style clearly visible, earning high praise from both domestic and foreign sightseers.
