[Kyoto Prefecture] An unusual shrine associated with airplanes

Flying Shrine⛩️ 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A shrine founded by Ninomiya Chuhachi in 1915 (Taisho 4)⛩️ Ninomiya Chuhachi was the first in Japan to successfully carry out a powered model flight experiment, but after learning about the achievements of the Wright Brothers, he left airplane✈️ development. Afterwards, Chuhachi, who was saddened by the high number of aviation accidents, used his own money to build this shrine to console the souls of those who died in aviation accidents. The grounds include a jet engine and a Zero fighter propeller. At the back, there is also the Flying Shrine Museum. There is also a building that looks like an ancient temple, so it doesn't have the feel of a shrine. The main hall consists of three altars. The first hall (center) is dedicated to Nigihayahi-no-Mikoto, the god of the sky. The second hall (right side) is dedicated to the spirits of the aviation victims and pioneers of the aviation industry.
