The "Iwashimizu" in Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine is said to be due to the fact that there has been a strange sacred spring on Otokoyama since ancient times. It is said that the name was given even before the establishment of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine. The water source, which was originally located around the Higashi-somon Gate, was cut off by repeated construction. The water vein remains in the current Iwashimizu Well, and continues to flow without drying up. It is said that water is drawn from this sacred spring every morning and offered to the gods.
