The Rhine River, known as the father river of Germany, originates from the Rhinewald Glacier in the Swiss Alps, flows through Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, and flows into the North Sea in the Atlantic Ocean from Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It is 1,320 kilometers long, 865 kilometers of which are in Germany. Until now, the Rhine River is one of the important transportation routes in Europe. The 65-kilometer valley section of the middle reaches of the Rhine from Bingen to Koblenz has been listed as a world natural and historical cultural heritage due to its unique geological features and historical cultural landscape. The more than ten ancient castles, historical towns and grape farmers who have been planting grapes since the time of Roma along the way vividly describe a long period of human history intertwined with the ever-changing natural environment and interpret many legends. Among them, Rüdesheim, Bacharach, Kaub, Sankt Goar, Sankt Goarhausen, Boppard and Koblenz are towns not to be missed, and of course the Lorelei in Heine's poem is also among them. The main ways to visit are self-driving, boat tour or chartered car.
