Heisu Memorial Hall and Local History Museum!

I stopped by the Heisu Memorial Museum and Local History Museum in Aichi Prefecture. Hosoi Heisu was born in Heijima Village, Chita County, Owari Province (now Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture), and after studying in various places, he was invited to several feudal domains. Heisu's belief in practical learning, "putting what you have learned to use," influenced Yoshida Shoin and Saigo Takamori. He is particularly famous as the teacher of Uesugi Yozan, who carried out economic reforms in the Yonezawa domain. This memorial museum commemorates Heisu's achievements, and also displays archaeological and folklore materials.
