Large reclining Buddha statue at Genyu-ji Temple

I visited Genyu-ji Temple in Aichi Prefecture. Genyu-ji Temple is the 84th temple on the Chita Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. Although much of the temple was destroyed in a fire in September 1867, one of the temple treasures is the statue of Prince Shotoku, which is said to have been rescued and taken home by Hideyoshi Hashiba's foot soldiers when Oda Nobunaga burned down Mount Hiei. It is also a very impressive temple, with a large reclining statue. The mountain gate and the colorful statues of the Four Heavenly Kings are also worth seeing. It is definitely worth a visit!
