A day in Santorini, where the sun lingers

#OctoberTravelSupport The mornings in Oia are tranquil, and the day begins with the sunlight slowly creeping over the white walls. The aroma of coffee wafting through the alleyways and the sea visible between the blue domes became a reason to travel in and of themselves. With every slight breeze, bells chimed, and the sky grew a deeper shade. Just walking was enough for a traveler to be happy. Around lunchtime, we headed to Fira. The streets, slightly more vibrant than Oia, were filled with the laughter and music of tourists. Each shop displayed charming handicrafts, and the blue of the Adriatic Sea peeked through the alleyways. Pizza and wine at a hilltop terrace restaurant further enhanced the leisurely atmosphere. Before sunset, we returned to Oia and waited for the sunset. The sea turned crimson, and the walls of the buildings turned golden. In that moment, as people gathered and held their breath to watch the sunset, I felt with my whole body why Santorini is called the "Island of Romance."
