An island bathed in sunset, the end of a day in Santorini.

As the afternoon sunlight gently spreads over the sea, the village of Oia in Santorini experiences its most beautiful time of the day. The alleys are tinged with a reddish hue, and the white walls glisten with a golden glow from the sunset. Walking slowly uphill, the blue-domed roofs and the crimson-streaked sky blend into a picturesque scene. At dusk, I headed to Red Beach. The stark contrast between the red cliffs and the deep blue sea was breathtakingly intense. The salty breeze and the sound of waves brought a sense of calm, making all the noise of the world feel distant in that moment. Returning to Oia after the sunset, the village transforms as lights begin to twinkle one by one, resembling starlight. If Santorini during the day is the island of sunlight, then at night, it becomes the island of light.
