How to Spend Your Dream Vacation on Santorini Island, Greece

Santorini Island has always been a dream destination for me! With its blue seas, white buildings, delicious wine, and Mediterranean cuisine, this island is truly packed with charm and beauty. I spent 3 nights and 4 days there, participating in activities like winery tours and island-hopping excursions. The town itself is so picturesque that simply strolling around or relaxing at your hotel is enough to fully enjoy the Santorini experience, even without a packed itinerary. One of the highlights of Santorini is its world-famous sunsets. The best viewing spots can get quite crowded, so I recommend heading to your chosen spot about an hour before sunset. Waiting while sipping coffee and enjoying a snack as you take in the beautiful surroundings is an experience in itself. Oia is home to numerous stunning photo spots, but be prepared for long lines during the day. If you’re keen on taking photos, consider staying in Oia and exploring early in the morning when it’s less crowded. - Most of the streets are cobblestone with many ups and downs, so wear comfortable walking shoes. → Large suitcases and strollers can be difficult to manage, so opt for smaller, hand-carried luggage (some hotels offer luggage transport services, but they can cost around 3,000 yen or more per item). - From July to September, it gets very hot, and the sunlight reflects off the white buildings, so be sure to prepare for the heat and protect yourself from UV rays. - If you want to enjoy the sunset from a restaurant, make sure to book in advance.
