Quedlinburg, Germany, a world cultural heritage site

Quedlinburg is a small town located in the northern part of the Harz Mountains in the Harz district in the western part of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. An influential and prosperous trading center in the early Middle Ages, Quedlinburg became its most influential center during the Ottonian dynasty in the 10th and 11th centuries. The castle, churches and old town date back to this period of influence and were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994 for their remarkable preservation and outstanding Romanesque architecture. Quedlinburg is rarely included in the itineraries of ordinary tour groups, so this quiet historical and cultural town is very suitable for vacation, and there are many places worth visiting around it.
