Qingcheng, Qingyang, Gansu - The Mausoleum of the Ancestors of Zhou: Qi Bo

The first attraction at the Qingcheng Museum Mausoleum of the Ancestors of Zhou is the statue of Qi Bo. Carved from white marble, it is quite imposing. Qi Bo was born at Qinglongju in Qingcheng and grew up on Medicine King Mountain. He often discussed medicine with the Yellow Emperor, and his works such as 'Su Wen' and 'Nan Jing' have been passed down through the ages. Qi Bo is considered the progenitor of traditional Chinese medicine, and his figure can be seen in major traditional Chinese medicine hospitals today. His greatest contribution was in the field of medicine. He laid the theoretical foundation for traditional Chinese medicine in our country. Chinese medicine is often referred to as 'Qi Huang' or 'the art of Qi Huang', with Qi Bo being of paramount importance.
