Zhou Ancestor's Mausoleum: The first ancestor of the Zhou people, Bu Zhi, is buried here

Located in Dongshan, Qingcheng County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, the site is not a mountain but a high loess land on the Dongzhi Plateau of the Loess Plateau. A great man is buried here, the ancestor of the Zhou people and many other surnames - Bu Zhi, who is recorded as the first ancestor of the Zhou people. He is said to be the great-great-grandson of the Yellow Emperor and the son of Hou Ji, the first leader of the Zhou people. During the reign of Tai Kang in the Xia dynasty, when the state was corrupt and Hou Yi replaced Xia, Bu Zhi resigned from his official position and led his clan to the area of today's Qingyang, near the Malian River, to develop agriculture. His grandson, Gong Liu, moved to Bin land. After several generations of diligent governance by the Zhou leaders, a great change occurred during the time of Duke Dan Fu. Once again, the clan moved, and this time the relocation to Qishan was a sign of the Zhou's 800-year reign. After the death of Duke Dan Fu, his son Ji Li was killed by King Zhou of Shang.
