Xiaoyuan Village Ancestral Hall

Xiaoyuan Village is a typical Hakka village under the jurisdiction of Dongshanba Town, Ningdu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The village is home to many ancient ancestral halls and buildings, most of which are from the Ming and Qing dynasties and have a history of 400 to 500 years. The ancestral halls are decorated with carved beams and painted rafters, flying eaves and brackets, and are square, dignified, and imposing. In early October 1932, the Ningdu Conference was held here. Today, Xiaoyuan Village is full of vitality. Ningdu County has built it into a red tourism village, using its rich Hakka ancestral hall culture and red resources to create a tourist destination that integrates revolutionary tradition education, patriotism education, and party spirit education. In an ancient ancestral hall, a plaque with the words "Rural University" in gold letters hangs on the beautifully shaped moon beam above the hall, creating a harmonious picture that is both simple and modern. Ningdu is an important birthplace of the Hakka people, and almost every village has an ancestral hall. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 3,300 ancestral halls in Ningdu County. These ancestral halls contain a large amount of cultural genes, and the ancient architectural culture, family culture, and red culture are intertwined here. Ningdu County not only repairs and protects the ancient ancestral halls, but also deeply excavates and innovatively develops the ancestral hall culture, adding new elements of the times, making the ancient ancestral halls beautiful and alive.
