Ningdu Conference Site

The Ningdu Conference Site is located in Xiaoyuan Fourth Village, Xiaoyuan Village Committee, Dongshanba Town, Ningdu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It was originally the ancestral hall of the Zeng family, Bangshanweng Ancestral Hall. The site was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty and is a typical Hakka ancestral hall building in southern Jiangxi, combining ancestral worship and practicality, and has high historical, scientific, and artistic value. In early October 1932, the Central Bureau of the Soviet Area of the Communist Party of China held a plenary meeting of its members at the Ningdu Conference Site, which is known in history as the Ningdu Conference. The meeting was attended by eight members, including Zhou Enlai, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, and Wang Jiaxiang from the front, and Ren Bishi, Xiang Ying, Gu Zuolin, and Deng Fa from the rear. Liu Bocheng attended the meeting as a non-voting delegate. The meeting evaluated and summarized the actions of the Red Army since 1932, discussed the strategic policy of the fourth counter-campaign against the "encirclement and suppression," and discussed and decided on the leadership of the war at the front. After the meeting, the Central Bureau of the Soviet Area of the Communist Party of China transferred Mao Zedong back to the rear to preside over the work of the central government according to the instructions of the Provisional Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and removed Mao Zedong from the post of General Political Commissar of the First Red Army. The cultural relics and the surrounding environment of the site are well preserved. It is a typical Hakka ancestral hall building in southern Jiangxi, which is both a place for ancestral worship and a practical Hakka residence. ⏳Duration: Free admission, 20–30 minutes.
