Check-in at the sea dam

High Island Reservoir is located in Sai Kung Country Park in the New Territories and is one of Hong Kong's key water facilities. It is constructed by connecting islands to the mainland with two large dams, the East Dam and the West Dam. The auxiliary dam of the East Dam is made up of 2,500 massive double-T shaped concrete wave-dissipating blocks, designed to protect the main dam from wave erosion 🌊. The dam's structure is solid and majestic, complemented by the surrounding picturesque mountain and water scenery 🏞, attracting many visitors for sightseeing and photo-taking 📷. Additionally, the area around the East Dam is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark, featuring unique hexagonal volcanic rock columns and sea caves, making it a popular spot for geology enthusiasts. To reach the East Dam, you can take a taxi from Sai Kung Town or hike from Pak Tam Chung, enjoying the reservoir and West Dam views along the way.
