Hong Kong Tin Hau Festival Parade, Experience the Charm of Legend

On April 20 this year, residents from Hong Kong and Shenzhen celebrated Tin Hau’s birthday together at Chung Ying Street in Sha Tau Kok, giving people a strong sense of traditional atmosphere. The parade scene was crowded and bustling. Hong Kong's Yanliao Village and Shenzhen's Shalan Village performed on the same stage. The national intangible cultural heritage Shatoujiao Fish Lantern Dance created an "underwater world", a unicorn leaped and exhaled auspiciousness, a hundred-meter-long dragon shuttled through the Sino-British Street, and land boats paid tribute to the historical memory of fishermen. The Tin Hau Festival parade in Yuen Long's Eighteen Heungs is also quite unique. This year, there are 34 fireworks teams participating, including 12 big dragons, lion dances, and folk song and dance performances, which is a grand event. The parade started from the center of Yuen Long and eventually arrived at the Tin Hau Temple under a big tree, attracting many citizens to watch along the way. During the parade, you can see dragon dance teams marching along the street, performing moves such as playing with a pearl and coiling the dragon; lion dance teams dance solo or in groups, and the interaction between people and lions is wonderful; there are also various fireworks, floating colors, ground colors and other performances that are a feast for the eyes.
