Border Memories and Time Imprints - Chung Ying Street and Sha Tau Kok.

Today's journey begins at Chung Ying Street, a small street only 250 meters long, which used to be the boundary between British Hong Kong and mainland China. It still retains the distinct architectural styles of both sides. As I walked along the cobblestone road, the old shops on both sides sold goods from Hong Kong and the mainland, making it feel as if time had stood still, allowing one to feel the weight of history. In the afternoon, I headed to the seaside of Sha Tau Kok in the northeast of Shenzhen. This former border restricted area has now opened some parts to the public. Standing on the shore, I watched the busy cargo ships coming in and out of Hong Kong's Yantian Port, with the mountains on the other side quietly reflecting on the sea, creating a harmonious picture. I quietly felt the connection between the city and history, experiencing the transformation of Shenzhen from a border town to a modern metropolis.
