Kumamon Run Followed by High-Quality Char Siu in Tai Po

After participating in the 2025 Kumamon Run, Kumamon and his good friend Kukuchi Castle visited a famous tea restaurant in Tai Po to enjoy roasted meats and afternoon tea. This restaurant is quite renowned in Wan Chai, especially for its char siu, which has been highly recommended by Kumamon's other friends who tried it in Wan Chai before. This time, they decided to head to Tai Po for afternoon tea. After waiting for about 15 minutes, they got a table—how lucky! Roast Goose and Crispy Pork Belly Rice (Afternoon Tea) A light portion of roasted meat rice, featuring crispy goose skin with a fragrant and rich flavor, tender meat, and a strong taste. The crispy pork belly had crunchy skin and soft, tender meat—perfect for an afternoon tea portion. Singapore-style Fried Vermicelli Speaking of Singapore-style fried vermicelli, it’s a classic Hong Kong tea restaurant dish. It combines fragrant spices with Hong Kong-style char siu, shrimp, and eggs, making it a favorite among Hong Kong locals. Having a plate of Singapore-style fried vermicelli for afternoon tea is truly satisfying! It was Kukuchi Castle’s first time trying it, and he loved it. Char Siu (Half Fat, Half Lean) Regular Portion Since the main reason for visiting Chuk Fu Tai Ban Roasted Meats was the char siu, they didn’t order it with the roasted meat rice earlier. It did not disappoint! The half-fat, half-lean pork shoulder was coated in a sweet amber glaze, with a smoky flavor and a hint of charcoal aroma. The texture was tender yet chewy, making it a top-notch char siu. Kumamon and friends thoroughly enjoyed it!
