Hong Kong Science Museum's New Exhibition Explores Local Industries and Future Prospects

The Hong Kong Science Museum has launched a new exhibition titled "Innovating the Future: A New Era for Hong Kong Industries." Featuring over 50 exhibits, the exhibition highlights the innovative efforts of local researchers and industrialists across various fields. It demonstrates how cutting-edge technologies are being applied to solve real-world problems, enhance production efficiency, and improve product quality, thereby creating a new form of productivity. The exhibition not only provides insights into the current state of local industries but also explores future industrial prospects, revealing how Hong Kong's new industrialization can pave the way for long-term development and drive social progress and economic growth. The exhibition runs until July 2. The exhibition is divided into five zones: "Industrial Foundations," "Research and Development," "Smart Manufacturing," "Industry 4.0," and "Vision 2030." Through interactive exhibits, physical displays, and models, it introduces innovative designs that touch on daily life aspects such as clothing, food, housing, and transportation. It also focuses on how local teams are transforming research achievements in three key sectors—life and health technology, artificial intelligence and data science, and advanced manufacturing and new energy technology—into practical applications, achieving Hong Kong's new industrialization. Highlights include an interactive installation showcasing zero-energy passive radiative cooling materials, an injection molding machine for mass-producing plastic products, and an automated multiplex diagnostic system capable of detecting over 40 respiratory pathogens within 90 minutes. Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, and planned by the Hong Kong Science Museum and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries with funding from the Innovation and Technology Commission, the exhibition is held at the Special Exhibition Hall on the ground floor of the Hong Kong Science Museum, located at 2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon. Guided tours will be available every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday from May 1 to July 1, and visitors can join for free on-site. Additionally, the Hong Kong Science Museum will host a series of activities, including off-site guided tours, exhibit demonstrations, workshops, experimental classes, and science lectures, all free of charge.
