Affordable and high-quality Portuguese cuisine @Casa Lisboa

Do you like Portuguese food? My husband and I love Portuguese food very much, and my favorite Portuguese restaurant in Hong Kong must be the one I’m introducing today. If you have been paying attention, you should know that I go to Casa Lisboa to eat Portuguese food from time to time. The place is not very big, with about 50 seats! I really like the blue and white colors of the restaurant, which reflects the free and unrestrained feeling of Portugal. The restaurant recently launched the Taste of Portugal Menu for $388, which allows you to taste 6 classic Portuguese dishes at once, as well as all-you-can-eat signature Portuguese desserts. The price is very attractive. As soon as we sat down, the drinks we ordered were served along with a bag of bread! In addition to marinated olives and rich olive oil, we also had homemade chicken dip to eat with country bread. Ordering the Taste of Portugal Menu allows you to enjoy three Portuguese wines at a discounted price. We ordered red and white Sangria at $58/glass each (original price $115/glass). In addition, there are Flor de Crasto Douro 2021 white wine and Casa Ferreirinha Esteva 2021 red wine at $68/glass each. Among the four starters, beetroot salad with goat cheese and avocado sauce is the first! It contains diced beetroot and carrots marinated in sauce, mixed with homemade avocado sauce, fresh cheese and mint leaves. It tastes sweet and delicious and is very appetizing. Next up is the delicious classic Portuguese dish, fried codfish balls! The golden outer layer is not greasy at all, and the inner layer is filled with shredded cod fish. The salty and fragrant taste is further enhanced by dipping it in the homemade garlic mayonnaise. If you like umami, this stir-fried clams with white wine, garlic and herbs will definitely suit your taste! Stir-fry garlic, add white wine to cook the clams, then season with butter and lemon juice. The plump clams are soft and smooth with the flavor of the sea, and are really delicious with the white wine and butter sauce. The last appetizer was grilled Iberian black pork rib-eye! The pork rib-eye, which is grilled to a very charred and oily state, is very chewy. Add to that the flavorful roasted pepper mayonnaise and Bacon and House Molho. This appetizer is really to my taste. When it comes to the main course, each person can choose one of four dishes on the menu! I have tried roast suckling pig and baked duck rice many times, so this time I chose two main dishes that I have never had before. I chose the traditional Caldeirada sauce cooked cod with squid, chickpeas and potatoes! Caldeirada is a sauce made from onions, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, bell peppers and chili peppers. It has a rich flavor. The salted cod is very chewy and becomes more salty and fragrant as you eat it. It is a lovely main dish that is really delicious with the powdered chickpeas and slippery squid. The beef-loving Che Dad chose the traditional Portuguese sirloin with egg, roasted chili sauce and French fries! Of course the first thing to eat is the hot and crispy French fries. My dad really likes the Portuguese-style grilled sirloin steak. The chewy sirloin meat flavor and texture satisfy his taste. He is also very satisfied with the cute sunny-side-up egg and fragrant rice. The final dessert was an all-you-can-eat Portuguese national dessert, Bolo de Bolacha biscuit cake! Its main ingredients are coffee, milk, Mary biscuits, cream, sugar and cocoa powder. After I ordered it, someone served the Bolo de Bolacha from a large plate and placed it on my plate. Chef Rodolfo Vicente even added a layer of chocolate on the traditional biscuit cake to make it more fragrant and smooth. The faint aroma of coffee, chocolate and milk was really tempting. It was such a blessing to be able to eat as much as you want. The Taste of Portugal Menu is priced at $388 (starting from 2 persons) and is available from 6:00pm every Monday to Thursday from now until July 18.
