#0YenTravel2025Autumn Gongju Surichigol Holy Site (수리치골 성모성지) Gongju Surichigol Holy Site is a significant site where believers hid and lived during the persecution of Catholics in the late Joseon Dynasty. It's also where the Sacred Heart of Mary Society was founded. A few years ago, it underwent extensive renovations and is now beautifully restored. The sacristy building at the entrance sells bread baked and sold by the sisters, which is absolutely delicious. There are also several pilgrimage routes available, and we recommend strolling along them after attending mass. It's also a great place for individual or group retreats. Meals are available with advance reservations. The only drawback is that it's a bit difficult to access without a car. Still, it's a must-see!
