Every detail of the mansion is filled with the brilliance of traditional Chinese hardwood furniture, with mother-of-pearl inlays. The patterns are interwoven with Chinese ancient charm, Victorian elegance, and Dutch romance, forming a cross-cultural art scroll. Tracing back to the era when Zheng Chenggong set sail, countless Chinese people crossed the ocean and took root in Nanyang. During this period, the marriage between Chinese men and Malay women gave birth to a unique mixed-race group—Baba and Nyonya. Their birth is not only a fusion of bloodlines, but also a witness to the deep integration of Chinese and Malay cultures, giving birth to the colorful Nyonya cultural phenomenon. This museum is the filming location of the popular TV series "The Little Nyonya", and it carries a profound historical heritage. It was originally the ancestral home of a prominent local Baba family. Its ancestors started their business with spices and accumulated a substantial family business. Today, the mansion has been passed down to the fourth generation of Baba. Although the family has moved to Kuala Lumpur, they have presented this precious cultural heritage to the world in the form of a private museum, allowing every visitor to feel the beauty of cultural integration across the centuries up close.
