Bielefeld, Germany

Bielefeld is a city in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the 18th largest city in Germany by population, with its historic center located north of the Teutoburg Forest hills. Southeast of the city, on the Hermannsweig Mountain, there is a 156-kilometer hiking trail along the Teutoburg Forest. In the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD, the three legions of Rama were almost wiped out, which was one of the most important defeats in Rama's history. Founded in 1214 by Count Hermann IV of Ravensburg to guard the pass through the Teutoburg Forest, Bielefeld was the "City of Flax" as a minor member of the Hanseatic League and was famous in the 19th century for its bleaching works. Bielefeld was founded in 1807 as part of the Kingdom of Westphalia. In 1815, after the defeat of France and the Congress of Vienna, it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Prussia. After the opening of the Cologne-Minden railway in 1849, the Boz brothers built the first large-scale mechanized spinning mill in 1851. The Ravensburg spinning mill was built between 1854 and 1857, and the metalworks began operating in the 1860s.
