"Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a King Executive Room, which was spacious and comfortable. The hygiene was excellent, and the shower was great. The service at this long-standing hotel was top-notch; they even thoughtfully stored our valuables in an inner room when we checked our luggage. The hotel's location is extremely convenient. There's a mall downstairs with many affordable luxury brands. It's a short taxi ride to Kunming Station, and within walking distance of Cuihu Park and Kunming Old Street, which we simply walked to. There are plenty of dining options nearby; even when we arrived late, we found delicious beef pancakes and rice noodles downstairs."

French Elegance Meets Spring City Moments in This Hotel 【New Urban Landmark, Carefree Stay】 As a newly opened boutique hotel in the heart of Kunming’s old town, the Kasion Hotel Kunming features a modern 10-story building housing refined guest rooms. Strategically located at the convergence of the city’s key arteries, it is within walking distance of popular trendy restaurants and just steps away from historic districts and commercial centers, offering both business travelers and urban explorers an ideal retreat that balances vibrancy and tranquility. 【Versatile Spaces, Redefining the Stay Experience】 The hotel reimagines traditional spatial concepts: a 200-person banquet hall with a soaring domed ceiling sets a ceremonial tone; a landscape pool surrounded by greenery blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors. The lobby lounge, filled with the rich aroma of coffee by day, transforms into a social hub for evening drinks by night. Additional amenities include co-working areas, private dining rooms for Chinese cuisine, as well as personalized spaces such as a wellness center, family cinema, and children’s play zone—catering seamlessly to business, family, and leisure needs. 【French Aesthetics, Naturally Infused】 With a palette grounded in black and white and accented by deep green, the design team blends French elegance into the essence of Kunming. Geometric lines define the spaces, where tropical greenery extends from corridors into guest rooms, and custom furniture harmonizes with curated art pieces. Each room features a viewing window, framing either the distant Dianchi Lake and mountains or the city’s neon lights like a natural painting—embodying an immersive “modern garden” living aesthetic in every detail.

"Here's my review: **1. Breakfast: 7/10.** Definitely better than Atour or Hualuxe, but the Western selection isn't what you'd typically find in a luxury hotel. They had some pre-sliced ham that was decent. There was also an à la carte menu on the table with items like salmon and eggs, which suggests the owner initially aimed for a super high-end offering, but you get what you pay for. **2. Hardware: 7.5/10.** The public areas are pretty good; for a 5-diamond hotel, it's decent. It doesn't quite reach 5-star luxury standards, though. Many areas use a dark green, faux-marble material that looks quite textured. This faux-stone texture is similar to what you'd find at the Wyndham Grand Yichang, InterContinental Xiangyang, and Conrad Chongqing, but the details aren't as refined. The mattress is quite supportive, not soft, which I really like – similar to JW Marriott and Wanda hotels. The linens are decent. The mini-bar was empty, and they use Yibao bottled water. The slippers have thick soles and are very good; I asked for two pairs when I left. **3. Service:** First, a shout-out to the service. The hotel gave me complimentary souvenirs upon check-in and check-out without asking for a good review. The service during breakfast, item delivery, and changing rooms for a late-night check-in was all very good. The most basic room type has a projector, so if that's an issue for you, book a room above the base category. Now for the downsides. Firstly, the soundproofing is average, which is a common issue with most non-luxury hotels. Thankfully, the location isn't super busy, so I slept well at night. The location is okay; it's not far from Kunming Station, and there's an internet café about 100 meters away. Oh, and the headboard decoration in the guest rooms resembles a certain hotel in Shenzhen, which is quite nice. The hotel's swimming pool and the third-floor terrace garden are relatively ordinary, not as impressive as the lobby. Overall, I'd still recommend it for those who aren't too picky about their accommodation, especially since it's affordable."

"1️⃣ At checkout, they asked if there was anything unsatisfactory, and I briefly mentioned a few things. But then the hidden agenda emerged: they asked me not to leave a bad review on Trip.com. Okay, fine, I won't. But surely I can still write about my honest experience, right? 2️⃣ From an attitudinal standpoint, their approach is fundamentally flawed. In the service industry, a breakdown in management directly impacts the guest experience. They neither want to improve nor accept genuine feedback – it's truly sad. They seem to want to shirk their responsibilities and standards through such tactics. Why does the hotel spend so much money employing these people? Is it just a 'clock-in, clock-out' mentality? If so, I understand, but then that's a problem with leadership and management. 3️⃣ Let's review everything from start to finish. At check-in, none of the complimentary benefits included in the Trip.com package – whether useful or not – were proactively explained to me on how to use them. Upon entering the room, the strap for the slippers was just lying scattered on the floor. The breakfast, for a hotel in this price range, was rarely this bad, especially for a hotel at this price point and location in a tier 3 or 4 city. Both the Western and Chinese selections were poor. And they used Yili for yogurt and milk? They should really go learn from the St. Regis in Shanghai. When I went for breakfast, even though it was peak hour, there was no one at the entrance to greet guests. Everyone seemed to be helping inside. I stood there for a while before I just walked in myself – a basic mistake that shouldn't happen. After being shown to a table, there was no routine inquiry about whether I'd like any soft drinks. 4️⃣ The large Grohe system in the pool's main shower room was completely broken beyond repair. The handle was off, and the overhead shower was completely clogged. There was no sign that they intended to fix it. Could it be that the pool's water system isn't connected to a water softener? 5️⃣ For over 2,000 RMB, there aren't many choices in Kunming. The hardware is currently impeccable, and the room design is good – taste is subjective, of course. But the public area design is truly outstanding, not inferior to the design style of the Rosewood Guangzhou. You can tell a lot of money was spent. However, that's all you're paying for – this design. The service is comparable to that of a budget chain hotel costing a few hundred RMB, and in some cases, even worse. There's no need to compare it to the neighboring Shangri-La either; their service is also a mess, with a feeling that all the new staff were put to work without proper training. But in terms of public areas, honestly, the Grand Hyatt is more grand than the Shangri-La."

"Coming to Kunming Paperman, I realized just how competitive hotel service can be! Let's start with the human touch: 1. They set up a WeChat group for butler service; upon arrival, the butler met me downstairs. 2. A beautiful welcome flower basket. 3. Whether I was out or in the evening, they'd let me pre-select afternoon tea snacks and deliver them to my room. 4. When I accidentally scraped my foot outside, they quickly provided iodine swabs and Yunnan Baiyao adhesive bandages. 5. I unknowingly left my bracelet in the restaurant in the morning; when I reported it at 10 PM, the butler team returned it to my room in 13 minutes – incredibly efficient and well-organized. 6. They proactively offered daily linen and duvet cover changes. 7. Every time I passed the front desk or saw hotel staff, they were always smiling and greeted me warmly. 8. Breakfast was available until 1 PM, plus afternoon tea and late-night snacks, truly allowing for sleep flexibility and no worries about food. Now for the hardware and details: 1. Full set of caviar toiletries – excellent to use. 2. The vanity came equipped with cotton facial towels, mouthwash, earplugs, etc. 3. Dyson hairdryer; after washing my hair with caviar shampoo, it was so smooth I didn't even need a comb. 4. Truly blackout electric curtains. 5. The latex memory foam pillow was genuinely comfortable. 6. Both the overhead rain shower and wall-mounted shower could be selected to run simultaneously with a button; the temperature was stable and water flow abundant, making showering a real pleasure. 7. The rooftop infinity pool is great for photos, and the design and decor of the restaurant and floors are thoughtfully done... There's so much more I could write; it's got everything a star-rated hotel room service should have. The only flaw was an uncontrollable power outage in the evening, leading to the elevators being out of service for several tens of minutes? But all things considered, that's completely insignificant. I love this level of competitive hotel service, and I'll definitely choose Paperman again next time I'm in Kunming!"

"Such a lovely place to stay in Kunming. The staff speak English, and the location is perfect, everything is easily accessible, from the lake to Kunming Old Street, Nanping Pedestrian Street, and even a local fresh market nearby. What I really loved is that it’s a mix of both Chinese and international travelers. If you’re traveling solo, you’ll probably make friends here in no time. I was genuinely surprised to see people of all age groups just hanging out and having a great time together. One small thing to note, there’s no elevator. So if you’re carrying heavy luggage, getting to the top floor can be a bit of a task. Smoking in allowed in the common area, a warning is that you will be passive smoking. My favorite part has to be their cafe and restaurant. After a long day, it was so comforting to not worry about finding food outside. They’re open until 11 pm, and the food is genuinely good. Morning coffee was sorted too. I already miss my favorite Oreo drink, both mocha and chocolate milk, please share the recipe😭. We only stayed here on our arrival and departure days, but ended up eating at their cozy restaurant most of the time. They also have some nice vegetarian options. If I ever come back, I would definitely stay here again. I absolutely loved the place, the vibe, and the people. I was also really curious about the story behind the owner after reading the little note in the menu, but couldn’t find more about it. Wishing you good health and happiness.🌷"

"My stay this time truly exceeded expectations! The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around and dining. Upon checking in at the front desk, the staff were warm, polite, and efficient. The first thing I noticed walking into the room was how clean and tidy it was, with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable; I relaxed almost instantly after lying down. The bathroom was spotless, with plenty of hot water and stable water pressure. The room had good natural light and ventilation, and all the facilities were complete, including an air conditioner with great cooling. The hotel's overall environment was quiet, so my sleep wasn't disturbed by noise at night, resulting in excellent sleep quality. The cleaning staff were diligent and thorough, and the public areas were also immaculately maintained. It offers great value for money, with affordable prices, making it suitable for both short trips and business travel. Overall, my stay was comfortable and reassuring. The service was attentive and thoughtful, and you could feel the hotel's dedication in every detail. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely prioritize this hotel again, and I highly recommend it to friends – it's well worth staying! Plus, there's a laundry room and a gym."

"The overall experience was great, highly recommend it. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient with check-in and check-out. They patiently answered all my questions, never cold or unhelpful, making for a very comfortable service experience. The hotel design is very stylish, and the restaurant is beautiful, not an old-fashioned or dull style. The room was spacious and clean, making for a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located in the city center, with many local specialty shops right outside. In the evening, you can explore the Dongjiawan Night Market nearby, which offers a wide variety of snacks, making it easy to find authentic local food. It's a bit over two kilometers from the old street, but that's not an issue as taxis are readily available. It’s perfect for both leisure and business travelers. I’m very satisfied overall and will definitely choose this hotel again next time."

This is the second time I’ve booked this hotel and also the second time I’m impressed with the hotel service. I’ve touched down Kunming too early and since I’m tired from late night flight, I head straight to the hotel after I’ve landed although I understand check in cannot be so early. The concierge was nice to allow me and my partner to enjoy breakfast (we booked stay with breakfast) while waiting for guests to check out as their hotel was fully booked. Right after our breakfast, the concierge saw us and quickly chased up the cleaning staff to tidy up the room asap so guests can check in earlier. I appreciate their thoughtfulness in this and was lucky to check in in the morning although the stated check-in time is 2pm. I also appreciate the cleaning staff attentiveness to us as we prefer the room to be clean up every 2 days instead of daily. (We book 4 nights there). She keeps checking in with us as she is worried we run out of drinking water, tissue paper, toilet roll and clean towel almost every morning. On our last day, we came back to our room around late afternoon and she thoughtfully hang a laundry bag filled with drinking water bottles and even new pack of tissue on our door. (We leave do not disturb button on while we went out.) The hotel staff at lobby was also very attentive when we get out of Didi outside in the rain, he runs towards us with umbrella to shield us from rain. I also enjoy hotel breakfast very much as I arrived in Kunming with weak stomach and needed non spicy and easy food to ingest. They provided a great range of food that suits foreigners, children and even sick adults like me. Thank you Dianyu Yunling, I know I can trust this hotel’s service level and will return to this hotel again for my next Kunming trip!

A hidden gem by Dianchi Lake! This hotel has excellent facilities and the butler service is incredibly attentive. Our room was quiet and spotless. This hotel has the highest ceilings I've ever seen in China (4 meters, maybe?). The facilities are fantastic; my only complaint is the transparent bathroom and shower, otherwise, everything else was perfect. There's a free breakfast, welcome rose pastries and fruit, and even a late-night dessert soup. There's no elevator, but the lovely owner personally carried our luggage upstairs. Seeing her small frame effortlessly hauling two bags made me feel quite bad. Parking is free, and the lot is huge and actually not far from the hotel. The surrounding area is nice with plenty of restaurants. Next door is an indoor ski resort, which unfortunately we only discovered as we were about to leave, as we only stayed for one day.

I highly recommend Park Hotel (Kunming Railway Station North Square Huancheng South Road Subway Station)! The location is incredibly convenient, very close to Kunming Railway Station North Square and Huancheng South Road subway station. It's just a few minutes' walk, making it super easy for catching trains or taking the subway. The front desk service was warm and attentive, and check-in was very fast. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. It was also very quiet at night, so I slept soundly. The breakfast included Yunnan rice noodles, which tasted good. It's convenient for dining and getting around, and not far from Cuihu Lake and Kunming Old Street. Overall, the value for money is excellent. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming. Five stars!

Overall Impression Our stay provided a generally pleasant experience, highlighted by the generous hospitality of the team and an exceptionally convenient location. While a few aspects of the room ambiance could be slightly enhanced, the property offers wonderful convenience for travelers exploring the area. Service & Hospitality The hotel staff were exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay. Upon our arrival, the team thoughtfully offered us a complimentary room upgrade to accommodations with windows. Furthermore, when we requested a late check-out, the staff graciously facilitated our request without any hesitation, which made our departure delightfully stress-free. Room & Amenities The room was impressively spacious, impeccably clean, and maintained to a very neat standard. The amenities provided met all our practical needs for a comfortable stay. While the room leaned towards a somewhat dim atmosphere—partly because the windows were either tinted or positioned facing an adjacent wall—the overall cleanliness and generous layout made for a restful retreat. Location & Accessibility The property truly shines in its location. It fully delivers on its promise of proximity to major local attractions and is just a short stroll away from the Nanping Pedestrian Street, making daily sight-seeing and dining remarkably effortless

Exiting the hotel and turning left, walking down the slope past a traffic light, it's less than a five-minute walk to the east gate of Cuihu Lake – super convenient! The front desk staff were very welcoming, offering freshly made flower cakes upon check-in, and there were welcome fruits in the room. The twin room was clean and spacious, with a separate wet and dry area, and a powerful shower. The room curtains were quite thick, which is great for light sleepers. From the window, you could even catch a glimpse of Cuihu Lake, which was a pleasant surprise. Many of Kunming's important attractions are located around Cuihu Lake, making it very easy to explore. There are also plenty of dining options nearby – I loved it! I stayed for three days, went for a five-kilometer run around Cuihu Lake, and visited the Zhuanxin Farmers' Market, Yunnan University, Southwest Associated University, and the old streets. Unfortunately, I went on a Monday, so several memorial halls were closed, which was a shame. Overall, apart from the hotel breakfast needing some improvement in food quality, the other services and room size were excellent. In particular, the hotel offers great value for money and is definitely worth revisiting!

Overall, the hotel was great – a true all-in-one spot for dining, entertainment, and relaxation. It’s perfect for spending a few days unwinding. The facilities like the pool and gym were excellent. Everything you need is right here! Plus, the three meals a day offered by the hotel were quite tasty. On a different note, I needed to arrange dinner for my family and called twice in advance to book a restaurant. The front desk said the F&B department would contact me, but they never did, even after I checked out… a bit frustrating. When I checked in, the front desk told me our standard room was on the first floor. I acknowledged it, and then they repeated it, “first floor, okay?” I didn't quite understand why they emphasized it twice. It wasn’t until I got to the room that I realized the cafe’s outdoor terrace offers a direct view into the room. (The front desk could have just said that directly instead of being so vague; how would I know, being a first-time guest?) Three areas for improvement: 1. The non-slip mat in the shower was very dirty. 2. The coordination among the F&B staff needs to be better. 3. The front desk should be more direct. Repeating that the standard room was on the first floor in such a roundabout way completely confused me as a first-time visitor about what they were trying to convey!

The location is fantastic, right in the city center, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was tidy. The biggest surprise was the amazing atmosphere in the common areas, with a terrace, bar, and restaurant – perfect for chatting with travelers from all over the world in the evening. The staff were super friendly and patiently helped resolve any issues. It's highly recommended for backpackers, solo travelers, and small study groups. Great value for money, I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Kunming!
