Today I will share with you the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet that I really like! This Four Seasons Hotel is so famous. The hotel is located in the old city of Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey. The hotel was converted from the Sultanahmet Prison, the first prison established after the Ottoman Empire. This building was designed by the famous designer Mimar Kemaleddin Bey in 1918 and was requisitioned as a military prison in 1969.

One of the highlights was visiting a traditional Turkish restaurant where the owner, Mehmet, sat down with us after the meal to share more tea and ask about our journey. This personal touch made me feel like I was visiting family. The Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia are both within walking distance, so you can soak in history and culture all day long.
In Istanbul, the hospitality is as rich as the city’s history, and I left with new friends and unforgettable memories. Can’t wait to return!

For first-time visitors to Istanbul, naturally, you have to check in at the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the two most famous attractions that are very close to each other. Until I saw this Suleymaniye Mosque (Süleymaniye Mosque), I was surprised to find that she is more beautiful than the Blue Mosque in terms of appearance.

Stepping inside, I was immediately struck by the vast dome, seemingly floating above the enormous central space, an architectural marvel of its time.
The intricate mosaics, some dating back to the 6th century, showcased the exquisite artistry of the Byzantine period, with their rich gold backgrounds and religious iconography.
Massive columns and arches, adorned with elaborate detailing, reflected the merging of both Roman and Christian influences. Originally built as a cathedral by Emperor Justinian, Hagia Sophia has witnessed a remarkable transformation through history, serving as a mosque and now a museum. Its grandeur, both in scale and design, is a testament to the ingenuity and splendor of Byzantine architecture.
Being there, I could feel the deep layers of history etched into every stone and mosaic, making it one of the most memorable architectural wonders I’ve ever explored.

A family trip to Topkapi Palace, the Imperial Residence of the Ottoman Empire

Istanbul is one of the most important cultural centre in Turkey considering the age of the city and the historical significance. During our trip to Istanbul, we visited the Topkapi Palace, which serves as the Imperial Residence of the Sultan on the era of Ottoman Empire. It was built by the order of Sultan Mehmed Fatih in 1459, until 1860 when the Sultans shifted its residence to Dolmabache Palace. At the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1923, the government released a decree to transform the palace to a museum. There are a total of four courtyards and a harem which serves different purposes, in which the second courtyard has a vast collections of treasures from China, Japan etc. The Imperial Council Building is also located in the second courtyard. The third courtyard houses the Harem which is also the forbidden area. It is one of the most important cultural Relic and one must visit when traveling to Istanbul.

Located in the heart of the city, this iconic market is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped by a maze of over 4,000 shops, each one brimming with colorful goods—from beautiful carpets and textiles to intricate jewelry and handmade ceramics.
There’s no entrance fee, which is great because you’ll want to save your money for shopping! I found myself haggling over a gorgeous Turkish lamp and some spices that I couldn’t resist taking home. The experience of bargaining with the friendly vendors is all part of the charm.
Nearby, you can explore other historic sites like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, both just a short walk away. Plus, taking a break at a nearby café for some Turkish tea and baklava is a must after navigating the bustling alleys of the bazaar.
