The Four Generations of Kung Pao Archway

The Four Generations of Kung Pao Archway is located in Chengnan Village, Xincheng Town, Hantai County, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It was built in the 47th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1619) to honor Wang Xiangqian, the then Minister of War, by imperial decree. It also posthumously awarded the title of 'Grand Master of Glorious Happiness, Pillar of the State, Prince Regent, Minister of War' to his great-grandfather Wang Lin (former professor at the Yingchuan Prince's Mansion), grandfather Wang Chongguang (former Left Censor-in-Chief of the Guizhou Provincial Administration), and father Wang Zhiyuan (former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue). Therefore, it is known as the 'Four Generations of Kung Pao' archway. Facing north and south, the archway spans the street and is primarily constructed of bricks and stone. The archway is 15 meters high, 9.2 meters wide, and 3.3 meters deep, covering an area of about 30 square meters. The Four Generations of Kung Pao Archway is a masterpiece that combines ancient architecture, sculpture, and calligraphy. It is known as the 'Number One Brick Archway in China'. On May 3, 2013, the Four Generations of Kung Pao Archway was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as a national key cultural relic protection unit in the seventh batch.
