🚄Transportation Take the high-speed train from Shenzhen North. It takes a little over 2 hrs to arrive at Hezhou Station directly. It's easy and convenient. 🏠Accommodation Stay in Huangyao Ancient Town to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the town. 🌈Itinerary Day1️⃣：Lingfeng Square → Gupo Mountain → Lingfeng Mountain → Huangyao Ancient Town * Morning: After arriving at Hezhou Station, take a taxi directly to Lingfeng Square (approx. 20 mins). Enjoy the local specialties and start your food journey. * Noon: Buy some milk tea, take your luggage, and take a taxi to Gupo Mountain (approx. 40 mins). It's full of negative oxygen ions, but it may be in the dry season, so the waterfall may not have enough water. 🚶‍♀️Gupo Mountain travel guide: Arrive at 13:00 or 14:00. In order to get the checked luggage in time, I chose the sightseeing bus to tour Line A - Colorful Eco-tour (Xiangu Waterfall — Xiangu Lawn — Jiupu Xiang Distillery — Xiangu Temple — Lovers' Forest — Fangjia Tea Plantation). The sightseeing bus will take you directly to the terminal station. After you finish the tour, remember to keep your ticket! * Afternoon: Take a bus from Gupo Mountain to Lingfeng Mountain (approx. 1 hr, you can navigate to Lingfeng Square). I wanted to enjoy the beautiful sunset, but it seemed to be under maintenance, so I didn't get my wish. However, the sunset glow in the square was also amazing. * Evening: Take a taxi to Huangyao Ancient Town. At that time, admission was free during certain periods (consult the homestay owner in advance). After checking in, stroll along the stone road at night. The red lanterns light up, and the ancient town is full of charm. Day2️⃣：Huangyao Ancient Town → Zhongshan Landscape Painting Pastoral * Morning: I wanted to get up early to watch the sunrise, but I gave up because I couldn't book a car. I strolled around the ancient town, checked in at the Dragon Bridge, Sima Residence, and Guo Family Courtyard, and enjoyed the slow pace of life. * Afternoon: Go to Zhongshan Landscape Painting Pastoral (approx. 1 hr). Some areas are still under development, so the experience is average. (Something interesting happened here. I booked a car to go there and back to the high-speed rail station, and I booked the same driver🤣) 🍱Food check-in: Hezhou urban area: Braised Snail and Chicken Feet, Rongshuto Late-night Snacks, Liyi Beef Intestine and Sour Soup, Liaoge Crucian Carp with Rice, and Cuichashi Huangyao Ancient Town: Guji Private Kitchen and Xilaideng Private Kitchen 💡Tips: 1. Self-driving tours are recommended for more freedom and convenience. If you don't drive yourself, be sure to book a driver in advance, otherwise you may not be able to book a car to see the sunrise like this time. 2. It's best not to carry bags when watching monkeys in Gupo Mountain, because they will snatch them. I had a milk tea bag that was torn by a monkey!
