Songgui Village was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The village still retains 7 gate towers, 12 courtyards, and more than 40 ancient houses, totaling more than 200 rooms. These ancient buildings truly reflect the evolution and development of ancient southern dwellings in the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the influence of philosophy and religion on ancient architecture. Next to the gate tower at the entrance of the village is Wenchang Pavilion, built in the 15th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, which is now the activity venue of the village's elderly association. There are two stone pillars at the gate of Wenchang Pavilion, on which a couplet is engraved: "The northern gate is locked with brilliance, and the eastern wall is full of auspicious colors." Despite the long years, the majestic handwriting is still clearly visible. Passing through the gate tower, you will enter Songgui Village Leisure Park, where there is a century-old banyan tree. The ancient banyan tree has thick branches and a canopy of green shade, covering an area of hundreds of square meters.
