Tongle Ancient Village, Zhongshan, Guangxi

Built in the Ming dynasty, Tongle Village is a centuries-old village mainly inhabited by the Liao family. The ancient dwellings in the village are built on the mountain, mainly of brick and wood structure, mostly with blue bricks and black tiles, gray walls and wooden verandas, with exquisite design and compact practicality. The villagers have been mainly engaged in farming for generations, and have retained a strong farming culture, with the concept of "farming for wealth and reading for honor" continuing to this day. The village has ancient wells, ancient banyan trees, ancient stone roads, ancient gatehouses, etc. The ancient wells are clear and cool as ice in summer, and are still used by the villagers today. The newly built Liao Ancestral Hall in the village is magnificent. It is one of the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages.
