Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area is located in the western part of the Guizhou Central Plateau. It is the watershed between the Sancha River, the upper reaches of the Wujiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, and the Hongshui River, a tributary of the Pearl River. The terrain of the scenic area is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The terrain is fragmented, with strong cutting and numerous rivers. Mainly waterfalls of the falling water cave type represented by Huangguoshu Grand Waterfall, waterfalls of the river raid type represented by Ditiantan Waterfall, as well as outlet waterfalls, hanging valley waterfalls, structural crack waterfalls, etc. There are five major sections in the scenic area, including Doupotang Waterfall Area, Huangguoshu Waterfall Area, Tianxingqiao Scenic Area, etc. With Huangguoshu Grand Waterfall as the main attraction, there are a total of 18 waterfalls, including Doupotang, Luositan, Silver Chain Falling into Pool, etc. The scenic area has sightseeing buses to help tourists travel. The recommended order of travel is Doupotang - Grand Waterfall - Tianxingqiao. A one-day itinerary is relatively tight, and it is best to complete it in two days. The scenic area sightseeing bus tickets can be used within two days, and the entrance tickets are valid for seven days. There are many hotels and guesthouses near the entrance of the scenic area.
