12th century church

Spain Westward ~ Zamora (Region) Only one of the three naves of this 12th-century church remains. Three chapels are preserved. Therefore, the roof of the church is made of Mudejar armor. The main front of the south facade has two slender columns and three semicircular arches. There is a cartwheel rose window above the door. Of note is the major sixteenth-century repainting of the work dedicated to St. John the Baptist (from the Junian school), as well as a repainting of the work Our Lady of Consolation by Ruiz de Zumeta. #2024TravelReview #SpainTravel #Castile-León
