Fangyan Scenic Area is located 25 km east of Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province. It is famous for its unique mountains and beautiful scenery and is known as a "paradise on earth." The mountain rises from the ground, with steep cliffs on all sides, and towers into the sky. It is extremely steep and dangerous, and looks like a square mountain castle from a distance, hence the name Fangyan. In addition to the charming natural scenery, Fangyan Scenic Area is also full of rich cultural atmosphere. Here, there is not only the local god Hu Gong, who is famous in Jiangnan, but also the birthplace of the unique Southern Song Dynasty Yongkang School of Thought - Wufeng Academy. [1] Travel Guide: Fangyan Scenic Area is a national 4A-level scenic area, and the entrance fee is CNY 65. The main scenic area includes two core scenic areas: Fangyan Scenic Area and Shiguliao Scenic Area. A one-day tour is recommended. [2] Opening hours: 7:30–17:00, last entry at 16:00. [4] Recommended walking route: Parking lot → Walk to the East Gate of the scenic area → Luohan Ancient Cave → Tianmen → Tianjie → Hu Gong Temple (Important note: Do not cross the bridge when passing the bridge from Tianmen to Hu Gong Temple, go to Hu Gong Temple first, then return to the bridge.) → Bridge → Hu Gong Mountain → Tianxia Liangcang Viewing Platform (core attraction) → Ping'an Pavilion → Hu Gong Poetry Gallery → Yuanmeng Tower → Hu Gong Memorial Hall → Nanyan Ticket Office → Jinluo Temple Guoxiao Jinghu → Shiguliao Film and Television City → South Gate (take the free sightseeing bus back to the East Gate) → Walk from the East Gate to the parking lot. [5] Itinerary for those who don't want to climb the mountain: Navigate to Fangyan Scenic Area (South Gate) → Take the cable car up the mountain → Yuanmeng Tower (under renovation) → Caishen Hall → Ping'an Pavilion → Tianxia Liangcang Viewing Platform → Bridge → Tianjie Hu Gong Temple → Return the same way. Upward cable car CNY 30, downward CNY 20. Fangyan Mountain is 384 meters high, and it is generally recommended to visit on foot. Go up from the East Gate, down from the South Gate, and then take the free sightseeing bus back to the East Gate.
