East Lake is really beautiful on sunny days～ But the greenway is very long, and the beautiful scenery is scattered across different seasons, so I recommend planning your trip in advance! As a local who has been to East Lake many times, I've put together my secret favorite spots for autumn visits to East Lake, Which one are you most looking forward to?👀 ▫️ ❶ East Lake Tingtao The Tingtao Scenic Area in November and December is stunningly beautiful! The water cypress at Bitan Fish Viewing, the colorful forests along the lakeside greenway casting oil painting-like reflections, and the entire cypress forest forming an autumn tunnel at Luoyu Bridge—just walking there feels like being inside a painting. ❷ Chufengyuan Pier I really love the autumn and winter exclusive boat rides to feed the seagulls! Before March every year, Siberian black-headed gulls linger around here. On sunny days, taking the last boat before sunset lets you see the seagulls flying alongside the orange sunset sea. ❸ East Lake Moshan The maple trees in Moshan Bonsai Garden are like a gift of gratitude! A single tree is brilliantly red and eye-catching, surrounded by a few orange-yellow maples. Few people and beautiful scenery～ Other areas of Moshan also have colorful autumn foliage scattered around. ❹ Cangbai Garden A lesser-known route deeper into Tingtao, looking through the tall sweet maples of the Deyou Open-air Theater, the Tingtao swimming area looks like the sea. Passing through the Phoenix Tree Avenue, there is a hidden Jiangnan-style garden. ❺ Ma'anshan Forest Park This section of the greenway is a bit away from the water, mainly passing through the forest park. Entering from the main gate of the park, you will see a golden ginkgo forest, usually around late October. There is also a forest study room with water cypress forests right outside the window, creating an amazing atmosphere! ❻ Luoyan Scenic Area The autumn pond cypress forest is a patch of gold growing on Matcha Lake, with mist rising from time to time. A 500-year-old ancient triangle maple tree alone represents the whole autumn, with leaves turning from green to red and then golden yellow, which is especially spectacular. ❼ Taiyu Bridge Every October, this place is covered with large patches of 🌻 sunflowers. The situation this year is still unclear. I will share more details after a later visit～ ❽ Greenway Children's World There are many Chinese tallow trees here, with beautiful orange, yellow, and green colors. It is also a favorite free camping spot for locals, where open fires and barbecues are allowed. ❾ Greenway Qingfeng Bamboo Garden An ancient bamboo bridge and a small courtyard full of red maples, very quiet with few people, perfect for portrait photography. ▫️ All the above pictures were taken in previous years; East Lake's autumn colors haven't started yet this year!
