Autumn in Wuhan has reached the Next Level! (With viewing tips

This year is a late autumn, but fortunately, autumn in Wuhan never misses its time, arriving late but surely. Here are two great spots to enjoy the autumn colors: First is Guishan Park — where you can simultaneously view the three towns of Wuhan from the mountains. It’s recommended to take the subway to Qintai Station and enter the mountain from the west gate. The climb is gentle, passing through several parks along the way up to the summit, making it especially suitable for families. At the top, there are several viewing platforms where you can see Dahankou, Hanyang, and Wuchang all at once. From the summit, you can also gaze far at the Yangtze River Bridge and Yellow Crane Tower. The vegetation on the mountainside is already colorful and very beautiful; you can choose to descend from the east gate, then walk across the Yangtze River Bridge on foot to the other side of the river to catch another sunset — simply stunning! Second is East Lake — the golden world in autumn that’s a must-visit in Greater Wuhan. East Lake is huge, many times larger than West Lake. The suggested route is to take the subway to Liyuan Station, then cycle counterclockwise along the greenway around East Lake (walking takes 4-5 hours, cycling is more enjoyable). After reaching Jiunü Dun, cross East Lake via the greenway, where the water cypress trees are breathtaking, and continue cycling all the way to Moshan Park. Several must-visit spots along the way include Chufeng Garden, Overseas Chinese Ecological Wetland (definitely go inside), Huxin Island, Huguang Pavilion, and Moshan Chucheng. Then you can watch a sunset 🌅 by Moshan Lakeside — absolutely gorgeous. East Lake is beautiful all year round and worth visiting in every season: cherry blossoms in spring 🌸, lotus flowers in summer 🪷, water cypress and ginkgo in autumn 🍂, and snow and plum blossoms in winter ❄️💐. For sunrise, you can go to Lingbo Gate at Wuhan University, and for sunset, Wuchang Riverside Park or East Lake Moshan are perfect. No matter when you visit Wuhan, East Lake is a must-see and you won’t regret it. Of course, autumn in Wuhan is golden everywhere, and just strolling through the streets and alleys offers a unique charm. There are many famous spots beyond the two I recommended, such as Wuhan University campus, Baotong Temple, Mulan Mountain, and Wenhua College, all great places to enjoy autumn. I’ll write more guides after I visit them. When I have money, I definitely want to buy a small house 🏠 by East Lake — ahhh, it’s so beautiful.
