Hubei Provincial Museum now has two buildings, the South Building and the North Building. The main historical exhibitions are in the South Building, while the entrance is in the North Building. When I came to Wuhan two years ago, I only visited the South Building, which is the essence of the museum. The North Building now has three floors. The second floor is the Ancient Civilization Exhibition, the third floor is the Modern Hubei Exhibition and the Museum Collection of Ceramics from Past Dynasties, and the fourth floor is the Contemporary Heroes of Hubei Exhibition. The Heroes Exhibition is just an exhibition of some revolutionary figures, which is not very interesting. The main exhibitions, such as the 800 Years of the State of Chu, the Sword of Goujian, the Tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng, and the Treasures of Prince Liangzhuang, are all in the South Building. Hubei Provincial Museum is located on the shore of East Lake in Wuhan. It is one of the eight national key museums jointly built by the central and local governments and is a national first-class museum. At present, it has a collection of more than 240,000 pieces, including nearly 1,000 national first-class cultural relics. The top ten treasures of the museum include the Chime Bells of Marquis Yi of Zeng, the Sword of Goujian, the Skull Fossil of Yunxian Man, the Jade Figure of Shijiahe, the Painted Figure of a Carriage and Horse, the Tiger-Seat Bird-Frame Drum, the Yuan Dynasty Blue and White Plum Vase with Four Loves, the Bronze Drum, the Zun Box of Marquis Yi of Zeng, and the Qin Bamboo Slips of Yunmeng Sleeping Tiger Land. I spent more than three hours visiting several of the best exhibitions. Although today is Friday, there are still a lot of people. In addition to the top ten treasures of the museum, I also found some strange treasures that I didn't notice last time, which made the trip worthwhile.
