Xiangquan Temple is located in Linluo Mountain northwest of Taigongquan Town, Weihui City, Xinxiang City, Henan Province. Xiangquan Temple was founded in the seventh year of Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty (556 AD). It was built by the second abbot of Shaolin Temple, Master Chou, on the site of the former palace of the King of Wei during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It is known as the "No. 1 Ancient Temple in Northern Henan". Important cultural relics include the Northern Qi cliff inscription "Avatamsaka Sutra", Northern Dynasties statue grottoes, Thousand Buddha Caves, Ming Dynasty stone archway, "Xiangquan" handwritten by Prince Lu, Qing Dynasty Thousand Buddha Stone Pavilion and cliff carvings from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. In 2013, Xiangquan Temple was announced as a national key cultural relic protection site by the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
