Persepolis

Persepolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by order of Darius I in BC, this huge ruin gives a sense of the splendor of the time. If you imagine the huge columns towering high into the sky and the huge canopy that no longer remains, you will be overwhelmed by its majesty. There is almost no roof, so you will need a hat and protection from the stinging Middle Eastern sun. I recommend going in the morning. #Persepolis
