Chaka Salt Lake Small Train

The Chaka Salt Lake small train has a total of 5 stations: Old Auditorium Station · Chaka Salt Station - Chaka Xia Station - Chaka Wind Station - Chaka Snow Station. The small train stops at each station, but it is recommended to go directly to the last station: Chaka Snow Station and then walk back. The small train of Chaka Salt Lake was once used to transport salt extracted from the salt lake to outside the lake. The railway was first built in 1958, using a gauge of 600mm. Later, as the salt production area gradually moved to the center of the lake and the railway was no longer used for salt transportation, the line was gradually abandoned. With the rise of tourism, the scenic area transformed it into a "tourist sightseeing line". The small train of Chaka is famous for its slow speed and the beautiful scenery along the way. There are no towering trees along the way, and even the wild grass grows sparsely. Looking out, under the blue sky is the endless white sea salt sand, with a pool of lake water reflecting the sky. As it moves slowly, the scenery changes, and every second is different. Salt sculptures stand beside the tracks, flashing from in front of your eyes to behind your head with the whistle of the train, as if telling the history of their existence. Even after being eroded by wind, frost, snow, and rain for many years, they still stand tall beside the road, welcoming and seeing off passing tourists. The salt road for tourists to walk on is laid beside the railway, with a constant stream of people coming and going. Those heading south are full of anticipation, hoping to capture the beautiful scenery with Chaka Salt Lake in the same frame. Those heading north are smiling and waving pure-colored scarves, like triumphant warriors waving their battle flags. The railway extends to the farthest part of the lake, taking about twenty minutes to reach.
