Liuchi Alley｜A lane famous for its story of "courtesy".

The story took place during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Ying, a Grand Secretary of the Wenhua Hall and Minister of Rites, had a family dispute with the Wu family over a plot of land in Tongcheng. Zhang Ying wrote a letter to his family, advising them to give way. The letter read: "A letter for a wall, why not give way by three feet? The Great Wall is still here, but where is the First Emperor of Qin?" The Zhang family took the advice and gave way by three feet. The Wu family was so moved that they also gave way by three feet, forming a six-foot-wide lane. This is the origin of Liuchi Alley. Address: The alley is located in the downtown area of Tongcheng City. Enter from the road at the small square, and you will arrive in no time. The alley is not long, only 100 meters long and 2 meters wide. It is recommended to visit in the morning when there are fewer people. You can buy a red chili rice ball at the entrance of Tongcheng Middle School and eat it while walking. By the time you finish eating, you will almost be there! After visiting, you can have lunch at Grandpa's Porridge Shop, or have a bowl of Tianxia Wuer Claypot Rice, or a bowl of Xianshang Huajia Rice Noodles. In the afternoon, you can visit the Confucian Temple and Xijiao Park. Tongcheng City is not big. You can basically visit the whole city in one day by riding a shared electric bike! If you want to learn more about history and culture, you can take a taxi or a bus to Kongcheng Old Street, which has more historical and cultural atmosphere!
